Genesis Live Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 27, 2026 · Last updated: August 27, 2026

Genesis Live is a client platform operated by The Genesis Company ("Genesis," "we," "us," or "our"), a consumer packaged goods sales representation firm. This policy explains what information we collect through Genesis Live, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.

This policy covers the Genesis Live platform at genesislive.ai and app.genesislive.ai. It does not cover the separate services Genesis provides to clients outside the platform, which are governed by the agreements between Genesis and each client.

1. Who this policy applies to

Genesis Live is a business-to-business platform. It is not intended for consumers or for anyone under 18.

Two groups are relevant throughout this policy:

Where a client authorizes us to access data from an account they control at a retailer or advertising platform, we refer to that as a connected account.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

When a client's authorized user is given access to Genesis Live, we collect and store their name, business email address, the client company they belong to, and their role or permission level within that company. Authentication is handled by our identity provider; we do not store user passwords.

2.2 Usage information

We collect standard technical information generated when the platform is used, including IP address, browser and device type, pages and features accessed, timestamps, and error and diagnostic logs. We use this to operate the service, diagnose problems, and protect against misuse.

2.3 Retail and business data held on behalf of clients

As part of our sales representation services, Genesis receives and processes business data relating to our clients' products at the retailers we represent them with. This includes point-of-sale and shipment data, inventory positions, purchase orders, product and item catalog information, forecasts, and planning data.

This is client business data. It does not identify individual consumers and does not include retail shoppers' personal information.

2.4 Data from connected accounts

A client may choose to connect an account they control — for example, an Amazon selling account or an advertising account — so that its data appears in Genesis Live alongside the rest of their business.

Connections are made through the platform's own secure authorization process. Genesis Live never asks for, receives, or stores the username or password for a connected account. The connection is authorized by the client and produces an access credential issued by that platform, which we store encrypted and use only to retrieve the data described below.

Where a client connects an Amazon selling account, the data we may access includes:

We request only the access needed to produce the reporting and analysis the client receives in return. We do not request access to consumer or buyer personal information, and we do not use these connections to make changes to a client's listings, pricing, inventory, or advertising campaigns.

2.5 Public and market data

Some features of Genesis Live incorporate publicly available market information, such as retailer product pages, public product reviews, search visibility, and social and marketplace trend data, obtained from third-party data providers. This information relates to products and markets, not to our clients' users.

2.6 Cookies and similar technologies

Signed-in use of the platform involves cookies and similar browser storage in two categories:

This applies to the signed-in platform. The public pages at genesislive.ai, including this policy, set no cookies and carry no analytics or advertising tags.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies or similar technologies for behavioral advertising, on this site or in the platform.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

We do not sell personal information or client business data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Client data isolation

Genesis Live is designed so that each client sees only its own data. Data access is scoped to the client company at the database query layer for every request, and a client's data is never shown to, aggregated with, or made available to another client.

Where a feature draws on public or market-level information that is not specific to any client, that information is not derived from another client's private data.

5. Artificial intelligence and automated analysis

Genesis Live uses artificial intelligence to summarize data, generate written analysis, and answer questions about a client's own business.

6. How we share information

We share information only as follows:

Service providers. We use third-party providers to host and operate the platform. Each processes information only on our instructions and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. Our providers include:

Within a client's own organization. Data belonging to a client is visible to the authorized users that client has granted access to, according to the permissions that client sets.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, the safety of any person, or the integrity of the platform.

Business transfers. If Genesis is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

We do not share client data or data from connected accounts with any other client, with competitors, or with data brokers.

7. Data from connected retailer and advertising accounts

The following applies specifically to data we access from a client's connected accounts:

Revoking a connection. A client may disconnect a connected account at any time from within Genesis Live, or by revoking access directly from that platform's own account settings. Once revoked, we stop accessing new data immediately. Previously retrieved data is deleted or de-identified within 30 days of the client's request, except where we are required to retain it by law.

8. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold, including:

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting client data, we will notify affected clients without undue delay and in accordance with applicable law.

9. Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the platform and for legitimate business purposes:

10. Your choices and rights

Clients and their authorized users may:

Depending on where you are located, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Where we process personal information on behalf of a client, we act as a processor and will refer requests to that client where appropriate.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ed@thegenesiscompany.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. International transfers

Genesis is based in the United States and processes information in the United States. If you access Genesis Live from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

12. Children

Genesis Live is a business platform and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice, such as by email to account administrators or a notice within the platform. Continued use of Genesis Live after an update means you accept the revised policy.
